Brenda Bryant – From Our Roots To Our Branches Extending Service To Our Veterans

Bobby Waddle – Climbing High For Our Veterans

Greetings brothers and sisters! I can’t believe we are already off to a new year. I am THRILLED to be your membership chair for this year, we are going to have. some fun WADDLING TO 100%!

When we are out recruiting for membership, a good way to really help talk to potential new members is remembering your "why”. When you are thinking of membership, it’s helpful to think back on when you joined. Who did you join under, what made you want to join, what makes you still continue to serve our Auxiliaries today? If you keep your why close to you – it will help you remember who you are and what you stand for.

This year we are going to attempt a different approach. As times evolve – so does communication. A lot of people these days will do anything to avoid a face-to-face conversation with a stranger, so we must evolve our ways as well. If we can use the power of social media, websites, texting, mailers, etc. – we can gain an entire new generation of membership who will be the future of our organization! Start thinking now of new ways to recruit; while still maintaining the ways we have used in the past. If we can do what we have been, along with trying new ways – we will be bursting with new members!

Going with our National and Departments Presidents theme – we are going to bridge the gap in membership with 2 columns:

Column A – Family we KNOW will qualify – commit to gifting them a membership, talk to them about what we do, get them involved!

Column B – Family who MAY qualify – this is our opportunity to reach out and connect with family that we know may qualify for membership but you are not sure.

If we all commit to getting at least one family member to join – we could DOUBLE our membership. IMAGINE IF WE COULD DO THAT. You are the key to making this happen!

This is all possible if we root ourselves into our history, we must branch out to include all of our qualifying family members, and we must provide new avenues to get these new leaves on our branches to gain all of the support needed to thrive!

    DEPARTMENT AWARDS

Award #1: Citation to each District President 100% reported.

Award #2: $200 to the first Auxiliary to gain 15 new members (category 1-3) or 107% (categories 3-5) before fall conference. This does not include mergers or rejoining members – they MUST be new members! We are doing it this way because it is easier for smaller auxiliaries to gain percentages but it is easier for larger Auxiliaries to achieve numbers.

Award #3: Will be explained into more depth in January General Orders (think duck races).

Award #4: Will be announced in April General Orders.

** Pins for each Auxiliary that reaches 100% membership will be given at Spring Conference.  (membership must be maintained through the year.)
